Illustration Friday - Wild

I have been practicing repeats. I thought of Illustration Friday as I was making Wildflowers.

Cotton Candy

I've been working on the imagery for this collection for awhile. So happy it all came together. I'm know there is a ton more I could do and try, but I'm pretty happy with it.

My studio

A friend of mine asked to see where I work.  I have many projects going right now so it's a bit cluttered with drawings and sketches, but I love it!  There is also a shot of the originals I did for the library.

Playing with words - King County Library

The artwork I did for the King County Library is out today. A good friend of mine took her boys to the library and she spotted my work. I wasn't quite sure when it was going to be out. I immediately stopped by my local library to see for myself. I'm excited because there are flyers, posters and it's on the website too. Here is a copy of the front of the flyer and a link to the site as well. I'm still very amazed I got to do work for the library. I've wanted to for a very long time. Happy day! Here is the link

Fluevog Shoes - FluevogCreative: Kitschy Kitschy Boom Boom

John Fluevog shoes are my favorite. They are so unique and beautiful. I love them so! They have a design brief for a new pair called Kitschy Kitschy Boom Boom. They are amazing. The brief was to create an ad for the new shoes. Here is a link to my entry. Hope you like it. Fluevog Shoes - FluevogCreative: Kitschy Kitschy Boom Boom

Lovely Class - The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design

I'm taking the most amazing class. It is so wonderful. In one week I am so thankful for what I have learned. Can't wait to dive in to week 2. Here is the link to the class for anyone interested. I can't say enough good things! It is truly amazing!! Here are few designs I created as part of the exercises in the first week. I'm currently taking Module 2.

Taking a break and playing with my printing plate

I just finished the artwork for one of my collections yesterday and am starting in on a new one today. I love choosing all of the colors for each collection. It's fun to get inspired and then translate colors from various images in to my watercolor pallet. I needed to give my brain a bit of a break so I got out my Gelli Art Printing Plate. It's so fun to just let go with it. It takes my brain in a whole new direction. It's so incredibly different from how I paint. Here are a few doodles that came out of break time. Now back to my lovely watercolor paints.

Hot Once Inch Action - Button Show

Had an amazing time at the Button Show last night. My daughter and I both had buttons in the mix. It is so fun reaching in the pink fuzzy box to get your random bag of buttons. Then the trading begins and you get to meet great new people and many of the other artists. Here are a few shots of the fun.

Morning Glory Espresso

Big news! You can now find my cards at Morning Glory Espresso, in Widefield CO. This amazing coffee shop is owned by my cousin Dee Dee and it is fabulous! Look at the beautiful decor. She found the most amazing display for my cards. If you are in the area, stop on by for great coffee, cupcakes and cards.

Musings Store Display

I had a great time at the Art Walk at Musings in Mill Creek Town Center. Here is my display in the store.

Love Nest

We just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. I am the luckiest girl alive. We shared a fabulous dinner on the Puget Sound with our two daughters. It was amazing. I thought it would be a good time to share my painting, Love Nest.

Mono Printing

I was so excited to get my Gelli Arts printing plate. I can't wait to incorporate mono printing with my watercolors. The possibilities are endless. Here is a one of my first mono prints.
